Open Question: Where should i move???
I live in Birmingham, England, but fancy a change. I am studying to become a doctor so i'd need somewhere that is good for my field of work (And would preferably have high wages!). I am open to America, Canada, England or France (I talk French too). I currently live close the city but I adore tiny-ish towns. The problem with tiny towns is they may not offer what i'm looking for and i've heard that people living in, for example, Idaho aren't the smartest of people and are living in the past as to homosexuals and different races and A LOT of hunting etc goes on (I'm not a homosexual but i HATE homophobic people. I'm white, so wouldn't really experience it but racism is disgusting and i'm a vegetarian and adore animals) . However, i adore the amazing scenery and sense of community they offer, so maybe close a city?? Three things i'm looking for 1) Good standard of living and job opportunities. 2) NATURE AND SCENERY!! 3) Intellectual people (Haha). Help please....

Open Question: What are the chances of finding a job in Canada if you have just graduated from a Canadian university?
I'm referring to the post-graduate work allow program outlined on the CIC website. According to their regulations, it's possible to apply for a post-graduate work allow if you've completed at least 8 months of full time education at a Canadian university but of course a work allow doesn't guarantee employment. So what are the chances of finding a job in the skill type 0, A or B category for the purpose of permanent residence? Will it depend on prior work experience, what you studied, what uni you went to or any other factors? Will Canadian employers be more willing to hire a foreign worker if he/she has recently graduated from a Canadian university with a master degree?

Open Question: In Canada, would this employee have a legal case?
An employee who was a big Saskatchewan Roughriders Fan was working in a company for a long time and had great performance evaluations. But then a new top manager took over and things changed dramatically, and the employee was then gradually terminated for bad performance over a 90-day period. Before the 90-day period, the employee was highly regarded. During the last 90-day period, the immediate boss was ordered by top-level management to terminate the employee on the grounds that the employee was a Roughriders CFL Fan (though they never said this on paper). The new top manager HATED the Roughriders. Instead, the employer set it up so that the employee would be asked to do an impossible amount of work each day so that the employee could not possibly succeed. The employee was then terminated for bad performance (unfairly of course). The employee wants to collect Employment Insurance, the company REFUSES to let the employee resign without a bad performance record. Would this employee have a case? The only evidence showing the true reason for termination was that 0% of new staff considered themselves fans of the Sask Roughriders. This was NOT a CFL-related job. The boss just HATED the Roughriders for some reason. Would there be a case in Canada?

Open Question: Educational Certificate Attestation in Saudi - Required or Not ?
Hi, I am born in Saudi Arabia, I Did my Inter from here and moved on to india for graduation. I did B.com from MGKVP, UP. After Graduation, i got my Certificates with individual marks sheet. I then came back to saudi with those certificates, keeping in mind that the certificates are neither attested by HRD or the Saudi embassy. I plan for further studies abroad, possibly England or Canada. Can anyone suggest me whether i need to attest these certificates before going abroad or can i travel without any attestations. Also if i take up a job here in saudi, do i have to receive them attested in India or here itself in saudi ? I am sure many of us have same queries and it may be useful for others as well. Thanks.

Open Question: 2nd offense shoplifting in Ontario Canada?
Please no mean comments, I really just want advice. I was not taken to the station or anything, I was let go by the officer the very night, My first offence was expunged from my record last January, its not the following year in March. I didn't tell him about my first offense but then he looked it up and found out about it. I twas dumb to hide that but luckily he just gave me the notices to appear for fingerprints and court. He even knew I used a tool to steal the first time and he was decen tto me, though Im not sure the judge will be. I'm 24, I am a university graduate and I was hoping to receive into a teaching program this year to tutor junior education. I really want to keep my record clean and I was wondering if there was any way I could receive through this without sacrificing my future employment opportunities. What should I do? I know that I should be applying for decent jobs in my field before my court date because currently it reads clean. Is it common for employers to dig deep and find out about previous offences. Is it even common for employers to do criminal background checks? I am pretty scared. Not as scared as I was last time, just I really want to solve this and be sure that my future working either in an artistic field or education will be unscathed.

Open Question: Why does he have to live so far? :(?
I like this guy, but he is living in Florida! I miss him so much and i want him close me, but he can't. He's not moving back to Canada because his parents got a job in Florida. I want to be with him, he said he will marry me when the time comes and he will wait for me. But I'm not sure if that will really happen... (i am 17, he is 18) I'm not sure when my mom and I will be visiting Florida either cuz we have cousins there. Marriage is such a long time away and it's worrying me that I will lose him to another girl. We talk to each other almost every day and I can tell the adore is strong. I don't know if I should keep the faith of us getting together, or just let him do his thing there and hopefully find someone just as sweet and genuine here in Canada. :( I need help with this please!

Open Question: What is the best way to sponsor my boyfriend to move to Canada?
I am going to explain my situation and if anyone can give me advice or shared experience on the best way that we should go about the sponsorship process... what would be the fastest way (in-land, out-land and when to start?) but at the same time I want to make sure we qualify.... So I am Canadian. I moved to Mexico last June. We met in July. To qualify as common-law we have to be living together for a year... we kinda lived together since the fall. We have many pictures etc of stuff we did as proof plus we have met every eachothers family and have pictures of that as well. I am still living in Mexico so I would not qualify as a sponsor because I don't make enough money here... and my visa is expired. BUT if I go back to Canada we wont be living together anymore so wouldn't qualify as common-law. Should we both go to Canada- him on a visitors visa and I can receive a job to qualify with the right financial earnings and everything and then sponsor in October or something? Should we do in-land or out-land sponsorship if we do it that way? Can we do out-land but still have him in Canada on a visitors visa... if he finds a job can he apply for a work visa even though he is being out land sponsored at the same time??? It's just that you cannot leave for at least 2 years if you do in-land and that is nice of crazy...and I heard outland is faster. Any help would be appreciated. Gracias!!!!! ibu guru- you seem too pessimistic. we don't want to stay in mexico, we want to live in canada where there are more opportunities and a more comfortable life. and we have been living together since fall but i don't remember the exact date but it can be proven either way as my landlord saw us everyday there together. we are a proper common-law couple- will be by fall anyway which is why i am saying I think we have to wait until then. we are young but not too young-I will be 24 this year.

Open Question: If I got paid GST as a contractor, how do I pay that as income tax?
I'm in Ontario, Canada. Last year I worked in a job where I got paid by the hour. There were no deductions on my paycheck like EI, etc. I also got paid 5% GST on top of that, i.e. if I earned $100, my boss paid me $105. My boss told me I'd have to pay back the GST to the government on my tax forms. How do I do that? Also what difference does it make that I didn't receive deductions on my paycheck - in every previous years, I had them.
